Sky News Breakfast - Live from Dover and Calais

More than 25 people died yesterday, trying to cross the Channel to the UK from France to begin a better life.

Sky News is live in Dover and in Sangatte, near Calais to ask how these people can be better protected and helped to find safety - and stopped risking their lives in terrible conditions to cross to the UK.

Including interviews with contributors from Refugee Action, former ministers and French MPs.

I can't see what the UK can do to stop this? These overcrowded boats are leaving from the French coast. In my opinion, the French need to get tough with the smugglers. Heavy sentences at least.

What I want to hear is the opinion of authorities from the nations the migrants are fleeing.
I'd measure my response by the level of apathy in their respective statements.
As things stand, I still respect the liberals for not turning a blind eye to the problem.
