The cool thing with those paper towels that get saturated with wax is they work great for fire starters for campfires or fireplaces. I use all my spare wax and paper towels from candlemaking and put them into paper cupcake liners to make firestarters!

You can either get pretty jelly that works easy, or wait for it to harden, melt is (until it pops out) and take it out (and put the next wax melts in). They’re just different choices. No one option is wrong/right.

when the wax is dry, put the whole thing in the freezer for about 1 to 2 minutes. once the wax is cold you can take a spoon or a fork and use it to pry the wax out. this method sounds odd yeah but it works🤷🏼‍♀️

Was always taught it was easiest when the paper towel was *slightly* damp, but honestly the gel is much much easier, and looks cooler too

The peeling ones are really pretty, it looks very satisfying. It's a great thing mopping the stuff up with the paper towels has a great use to for fire starters (though not as aesthetic or satisfying lol)

K if your using the wax one instead of jelly here is the realy way of changing it out so after your done using it you let it harden then light the candle so the bottom gets warm enough to just take it off but don't let it melt all the way👍👍👍👍

This is a good way but it could be a major fire hazard if you just throw then in the trash. I heard a story about a woman who's house burned down because she would clean her candle wax this way and she threw a match that was previously lit into the trash and it burst into flames.
