Just a little note, to speed this up by like you said "Put it in a warm and dark place" I have found the best place to put them under your refrigerator. Works awesome and fast. I germinate all my seeds that way.

I did this for my garden this year. Thanks for sharing this because there's still seeds in the store to grow food.

I always use this method with a variation after lack of germination. I now put them in moist paper towel with water but I now sort of ball the towel up enclosing seeds. I think not having them pressed all together and give them some air and breathing room helped in my situation.

Thanks for making this video. Do you have another one that shows what to do when the seeds have germinated? 🙂

I'll try that. I usually put in soil and wait forever.

Went to the farmer's market two years ago and grabbed a bunch of peppers and kept their seeds. I put them into a paper towel in a zipper bag along with some store bought Roma tomatoes and all but this one bag have come up since 5/1. The one bag I think one, or two, have germinated but the problem is I only know which are Jalapeno and which are the Tomatoes the other four bags will be a surprise.

I like the sandwich bag idea. That way I could probably germinate them in a sous vide bath set to 75 or 80F

Thank you so much for this! I'm struggling to get my sage to germinate. It's been 14 days and I'm starting to think the seeds may have rot in the dirt 😭

Nice hack, I definitely have to remember this. Do you have any tips on taking/rooting cuttings and seedlings?

Does it work to all kind of peppers such as habanero peppers?

Gardener Scott sujusted top of refrigerator is the hottest 🔥 place for germination unless you have a heat pad..
Lady great video and well said.
I'm with you it's not a grammar video and some misspelled words does go unnoticed and off topic also. Thanks

Snack bags fit a folded paper towel perfectly and you can get hundreds for very little.

I use wattepats, you know those round things u use to take of make- up ? They absorb water verry well, i put three or four seeds on one and then put them in a plastic container with lid....and then wait. When they sprout you can take them out verry easy and then cut the pats in 3 or 4 pieces then put them in the soil.👍

Can you use seeds right out of your store-bought pepper, or do you need to buy them somewhere?
