I don't know how to start this other than I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I failed you. I told you we'd always have each other, and that was true right up until that very last moment. But perhaps you having me wasn't enough. You were hurting, in pain, suffering, and I'm so so happy that you're no longer hurting anymore, but I really miss you. Saying that you meant the world to me would be a disgusting understatement, and besides, you wasn't always one for the sappy stuff (until I converted you >:3), so I'm sorry for this as well I suppose.
What were you to me? We called ourselves best friends, besties, pals, buddies and everything else in between. We were inseparable. We could do anything we wanted together, and we'd have fun doing it, simply for the fact that the other was there. You would brighten the darkest of days, and made the sun look like a bad joke. I always looked up to you, how you'd gone through so much, had to deal with so much, and yet you stood there, smiling, happy. I always aspired to be like you in that sense. I still do if I'm being honest. I never reached that level of strength, and I doubt I ever will. I never had to learn, because you'd hold me when the going got tough. You'd stroke my hair and bury my face underneath your head on your neck and whisper sweet lies about how it would all get better soon. You'd look me in the eyes and I'd see everything I ever needed.
And then I lost you.
I don't know what happened that night, you never told me, but if I had known that saying goodnight on the phone that night could have been the last ever thing I'd get to say to you I would have said it in a heartbeat. But no, I was busy that night, at a family party that didn't matter. But we didn't call. The last thing I said to you was "See you tomorrow bubs". The last I saw of you was that sweet smile on your face as you turned that corner, out of my view, and as I found out the next day, out of my life. I wish I had known, I wish I could have helped you, but you made that decision, and I'll never hold that against you bub.
