The definitive way of lighting outside with only natural light

Lighting outside is an immense challenge because you have to decide how to use the sun. You either use the sun for level and lift by defusing it, or you use the sun as a hard edge light and balance the scene to match it. I prefer to put the sun as a backlight because its much easier to do safely and with less resources. You don't need powerful light to fight the exposure levels generated from the sun's powerful output.
