When one thinks of afternoon tea in London possibly the image of a posh setting like the Ritz comes to mind. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants where you can find high afternoon tea in the price range of 20 to 50 pounds. However, what are the options for those who don't want to spend that much? Come find out as we explore where to find budget/alternative afternoon tea.

Affordable Afternoon Tea in London Travel Video Transcript:

Okay, so it is tea time and this afternoon we're doing something a little bit different. We are in Camden town at the basement tea rooms. And it is kind of like an alternative experience. Instead of going out for afternoon tea at the Ritz, at a fancy hotel that might cost you around 50 pounds. Here it is only 13 and it is a very casual laid back experience. So, waiting for my tea.

Feeling pretty relaxed over there? Nothing like having tea in bed.

So my absolute favorite thing about afternoon tea is getting scones with cream and jam. And we've got six whole scones. My goodness! Not just any cream. Cornish clotted cream.

My happy place.

Alright, we tried the sweets. Time for me to have the savory sandwich. Little finger sandwiches. What kind of sandwich is it? It's delicious. It has cream cheese and salmon. Wow!

That is why you haven't been sharing because it has salmon. That's right. You've been keeping it a secret.

Alright, and we have one more to try here. This one is on whole wheat bread. It appears to be egg salad with spinach. Tasty.

I like the salmon one better though. It's all over your mouth.

Is someone going to take a little afternoon nap after all that food.

Snoring.

And after tea you can do a little bit of shopping.

That was really good afternoon tea. Total bargain. Normally you'd be looking at spending anywhere say between 20 to 50 pounds per person. And we got that for thirteen something. Total. Wow!

Time for Tea, Tea for Two, Tasty! Camden Town is the last place that springs to mind for afternoon tea in London - the high life opt for the Ritz, Harrods, the Savoy, Fortnum & Mason, those kinda snobby places where you pay thru the nose. Good for you introducing us to tea in the slightly more northern reaches of the capital.

I might check this place out! Certainly more affordable than tea at Claridges!! The scones and sandwiches look amazing. I hope you guys are going to make a "things to do in London" video! I'm from London and I know that there's a lot of awesome places in this awesome city, and it'll be amazing for you guys to share it with the world! Love your videos btw, you guys have definitely inspired me to do more travelling, and your videos have come in handy when visiting some places!

That cream cheese and salmon sandwich that Samuel ate, I myself would like to try sometime! It sounds, if not looks, delicious! I like both salmon and cream cheese! And could you get coffee there too, or just tea? I myself am an American coffee addict and I but extremely rarely drink tea anymore. I did use to drink English or Irish breakfast black tea, or even green tea, instead of coffee from time to time in my teens, but not at all anymore.
By the way, I've been following your channel for a few months now, it seems, starting when I watched one of the videos of the food you ate in Poland. And now I've watched several of the videos of your cuisine adventures in Europe, and yesterday I watched your travel guide about London. Perhaps I too would like to visit old-fashioned England someday.

I have a special request for you.
The day before yesterday, I enjoyed coffee at this old-fashioned house-turned coffee shop across the street from the university of which I'm a student. And while I was there, I recorded a portion of four of the videos from when you guys were in England, including this one, which I had downloaded to my computer.
Now here is my request: would you mind if I post them on Instagram and Facebook to show how watching those videos at that coffee shop has made a perfect match for me? The other videos are of the full English breakfast at a pub in London; the scene in your travel guide for Oxford, England, when you visited The Grand Cafe; and the scene in the 24 hour London guide when Audrey got coffee at Kape Barako.

Please confirm the number of subscribers you have to your channel. I can't believe you have the same number of subscribers for several months, 22, 446. How can that be? Has anyone else noticed?
