Nike Adapt BB self-lacing shoe works with your phone - Hands-On

The Nike Adapt BB, the BB stands for basketball, is the most tech packed sneaker you’ll find that can be controlled by your smartphone and this is just the beginning.

It has 3 processors on board, a 6-axis gyroscope and accelerometer. A capacitive sensor that detects when your foot is in our out of the shoe. On board memory stores program code and there is a high performance Bluetooth low energy chip that allows it talk to other devices.

Hey everyone, just a few additional points to add on here that I didn't say in the video that are noteworthy:

1) The Adapt BB produces 40% less foot movement and slippage in the shoe. More than any shoe Nike has ever produced.

2) It's made up of a Cushlon midsole and a new sock liner that absorbs energy bette. Instead of spreading and distributing it outwards, the pressure hits at the point its received.

3) Nike built a running prototype version of the shoe to test it in all conditions and collected 27, 000 miles of data in wet rainy, muddy and other extreme conditions to make sure it could last.

4) The new lacing system no longer uses FlyWire like the original, it uses a parachute cable like material instead that allows the system to wind and flow better and also can withstand 32 pounds of weight pulling against it.

I can tell you that no shoe has ever felt this way that I've tried on. It's truly the best fit, but the tech they've loaded inside is going to open it up for even bigger and better things through software updates. This is the most tech'd out shoe ever and as a gadget lover I can't wait to see what new features they'll be adding.
