I couldn't agree more. Being an Arab myself, I feel secondhand embarrassment when I see some of these people being toxic and overly abrasive. It has some of the worst people I've come across in my entire online gaming years.

I'm also Arab, been playing Overwatch since 2016 and I had to quit in 2022 after the game became f2p for the same reason, the toxicity was just too much and not worth it, I play games to have fun not ruin my day completely.

Sorry to hear you had to go through that. As an Arab player too, it's really unfortunate and I can understand how you feel. Have you tried using a VPN to switch servers? It might help and even improve your ping not saying any names so it doesn't sound like an ad. Stay strong and love you brother

Anyway what I said was that you should try the mina overwatch server selector. Had the same problem as you and I'm glad to see someone else finally talking about the real issue. The server selector still works today and I've always been on EU. Hope you'll start having fun again with the game :)

i Agree with You 100%, just yesterday i was in the game and suddenly i got the text as hello so i replied hello and then that players started abusing me as i have a "INDIA" logo on my profile. i waited 15 min in the queue and ended up leaving it. it has happened to so many time that now i considering to quit online game overall and just go for story driven game. at least i will have a good time there.
I like playing overwatch but not at the cost of my mental health.

i have blocked all modes of communication as i cannot change my server the only way to chat with me is through ping or friends chat, it took away all the fun out of the game, i got called out on my accent and then came the racist abuse i just hate everything they say!!!

As a non-Arab and non-Arabic speaker, it’s interesting to hear your perspective. Unfortunately it sounds to me like you might not have much choice to stick to gaming only, people make things political regardless of whether or not you want them to, that’s the lesson I’ve learned in life. I hate it, but I hope you find some better communities moving forward, in your neck of the woods and beyond!

I feel you, I used to have lgbtq icon on middle east servers even on master and grandmaster lobbies people used to troll/throw the entire game just because this tiny icon somehow affects them
everything you said including the accent/if you speak english they will try to pick up on anything to be toxic towards you. and that is why i quit overwatch 2

It sucks that people can't take a game for what it is; entretainment. I am sorry that you are being harassed just because of english, and that they somehow stop caring about the game and just focusing on harassment, rather than the game. Overwatch really need a server system like Valorant, or at least to be able to set region. The game seems kinda dull without coms, and i reached masters and gm just by comms and posistioning, not by being mechanically gifted or anything so... Takes away the potential when people just throw a tantrum, rather than playing the game, and makes the game pointless to play. Hope an issue can be found for this, so you can get better quality games.
