Oh God, Americans, look outside for a moment! The UK has had free instant payments as a matter of course since 2008 or earlier, India has had it since 2015 (IMPS, UPI, and UPI is p-2-p but not a CBDC). Screw CBDCs. People in the UK and India still are into Bitcoin.
