I ate alot of Capn Crunch as a teen. I eventually got sick of it, and could do without the mouth shred.

Anyone else remember the period in the 80s when Cap'n Crunch had action adventure plots in the commercials, like, with 'TO BE CONTINUED' endings that they did actually follow up on in the next ad to come out? Sogmaster and his minions, the soggies.

Ah, Cap'n Crunch. My top favorite cereal of the '80s and my second best tasting cereal of all time! I really enjoyed this cereal a lot from the mid '80s to the mid '90s. As has been the case with me, as a lot of time went by continually eating the same cereal I always had the tendency to switch to other cereals as I leave old favorite cereals behind, but I really enjoyed this cereal a lot in the decade that I ate it. I loved the original! It had the perfect flavor for a corn/oats cereal. But my favorite variety of Cap'n Crunch was Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries. Not only does it have those tasty square pieces, but it also has fruity crunch berry pieces. So I alternated between Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries and the original, though I ate the Crunch Berries version more often. I never really went to all the other varieties of Cap'n Crunch. Even though there were so many varieties, I just stuck with my two favorites. I never had a problem with Cap'n Crunch shredding the roof of my mouth. I can eat the crunchiest cereals dry and never have that problem, fortunately. I don't eat Cap'n Crunch anymore since I only choose organic cereals with healthier ingredients these days, but I did buy a box of Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries about 8 years ago to have for nostalgia. And I do look back and am thankful I got to experience Cap'n Crunch in my childhood and cherish the memories I had growing up enjoying Cap'n Crunch. Even though I don't eat Cap'n Crunch anymore, in recent years I did find an alternative. I found when you mix Nature's Path Organic Envirokidz Gorilla Munch and Barbara's Puffins Original it tastes similar to the original Cap'n Crunch. And with the ratio of 10 Gorilla Munch corn puffs and 1 Puffin, it tastes even closer to Cap'n Crunch in my opinion. It's still not as sweet and tasty as Cap'n Crunch, but it's pretty close. However, of course I'm just going based on my memory of how Cap'n Crunch tastes, since I haven't eaten it regularly since the '90s and I only ate one box about 8 years ago. So perhaps you can try this combination if you'd like and see what ratio you find is most like Cap'n Crunch (or if you think it doesn't taste similar) since your opinion should be more accurate than mine.

I loved those glow-in-the-dark cereal prizes that used to be in cereal boxes back in the 70's and 80's. Captain Crunch had a quite a few cereal prizes that glowed-in-the-dark. Some of them I was able to buy on ebay.

Nice video! I would've added the point about how the invention of the cereal even won an award because it was a food manufacturing challenge.
