This was uploaded EIGHT years ago?! And yet the most recent comments are only a few weeks (or even days) old. Tells me there might be quite a few of us (like myself) who are just recently discovering this musical treasure known as Morgan James. I'm discovering more of her stuff every day, and I can't get enough!

Morgan James is so much more than a singer with a "powerful voice", and her songs aren't mere "covers". This is a Postmodern-Jukebox-like re-interpretation, this is Blues-redone all over: Her amazing vocal control and raw power are tamed by smooth, sexy, powerful improvisations that are concluded softly, with a happy, almost mischievous smile, giving off a deceptive air of casualness. This is a postmodern celebration of Blues, a younger and irreverent Blues, without the pathos but with all the musical richness.


After years of suffering from musical ear-infections, I discovered Mogan James. Her music is powerful medicine on which I am happy to self-medicate and overdose! Bring it on!
