The BS excuse about cyber security is getting old. It boils down to cost nothing more! As soon as you introduce noise into PROFIBUS system say A bad VFD of poorly routed high voltage lines its game over! Not to mention some arc-welder grounding his equipment 80' away from where his welding. Yep, it's happen so good luck:)

Nah, a good current draw from a nearby source will make the comms down. 4-20m is still prefered specially is safety systems.

BUT connected to the sensor you don't need a ethernet cable, this is not about a revolution, is about what is necessary and where is necessary.
