There are people who eat in India but belch out for Pakistan. There is another group that eats of India but cheers for China. People from the second gang consider people of the first group as brothers in arms. The second gang has got quite a bit of intellect! They suffer heartbreak for Palestinians but keep mum about Tibet. They have not heard of Uighur Muslims. They cry a river for Rohingyas but when the Pundits of Kashmir were gang-raped and massacred in their homeland for over years, they did not know anything and maintained silence. In fact, they strongly oppose abolition of Article 370 in Kashmir.
When the US attacks Vietnam, they bring out rallies and shout slogans for Vietnam but as the Chinese invade Vietnam they have no knowledge. They cite their limitations when people starve to death in Amlashole but they send shiploads of premium food and live goats to Cuba so that people can have fresh meat out there. These people are so concerned about the deaths in Uttar Pradesh but the same people have wiped out 20, 000 refugees from marichjhanpi. They support the killing of students in Tiananmen Square and support Kanhaiya Kumar too! So many masks over a face!!!

I have visited Kolkata twice. The taxis, the buses, the roads, the tram tracks all tell about the story of a city and a state that have hardly progressed since the 80s. Mamta, the consummate thug, has continued the misdeeds of Jyoti Basu.

I can add my two pence as a resident of Basu was an American agent his first agenda was to destroy industrial infrastructure so that wb become dependent on import from outside and the coal and iron ore from this region can be exported out at cheap rate....

Now, he used an unique technique by dividing big agricultural lands into small pieces 2 acres each and giving to village people....thus village people became "impoverished " jamindars..still people were very happy because agriculture labourers were feudal in mindset...they love land even if they go

He speaks from a very upper class perspective. Cpim govt under Jyoti Basu carried out operation barga which abolished zamindari system and re-distributed land to poor farmers. Which spiked agricultural produce of rice and saved Bengal from falling into another famine.

Also they controlled media with fear and violence. Every voice had to support their excuse for whatever they did. Everything attacked was the victims fault. TMC is doing the same.

People forget that the congress rule had bengal from the state with highest gdp to one of the poorest state. The poverty level in 1970 in india was 56 while in bengal it was 80 percent. The left govt reduced the poverty level to below the national percent in just 5 7 years. They distributed land to the tillers by implementing land ceiling pulling huge peasants out of poverty. They introduced panchayat system giving power to localities which even today many states haven't been able to.
But there were many issues of deindustrialization which led to kolkata never voting for cpim contrary to the popular belief. It was the rural poor who saw them as their savior.

Sarat Chandra Bose ( Elder brother of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ), Kiran Shankar Roy ( Calcutta High court chief justice in 1947 ) and Muhammad Hussain Shorawardy ( last chief minister of United Bengal in 1947 ) all this distinguished Hindu and Muslim Bengali Gentle man wanted to create a independent and sovereign republic of United Bengal or Greater Bangladesh in 1947 outside the domain of both British 🇬🇧 created India 🇮🇳 and Pakistan 🇵🇰 but this proposal of United and independent Bengal was unilaterally rejected by Indian National Congress, Muslim league and British 🇬🇧 which resulted in the partition of our Homeland United Bengal in 1947 which destroyed Bengali Hindus and West Bengal because without raw materials from Bangladesh or East Bengal and south east Asia, West Bengal and Greater Calcutta Industrial area created by the British 🇬🇧 in 200 years of their rule was unable to survive.

Shorawardy Avenue, Sarat Chandra Bose Avenue and Kiran Shankar Roy road is still there in Kolkata today.

Atleast one only source of hope for us Hindu Bengalies of West Bengal is East Bengal or Bangladesh 🇧🇩 which now after 50 years of its independence from Pakistan 🇵🇰 has slowly but surely started to recover its lost industrial and economic glory since today Bangladesh 🇧🇩 just like China 🇨🇳, South Korea and Germany etc is a important part of Global supply chain in soft manufacturing products like Textiles, Readymade garments and leather products.

West Bengal can only achieve its lost glory and economic might if just like East Bengal or Bangladesh 🇧🇩, it break away from British 🇬🇧 created Indian union to form United Bengal or Greater Bangladesh outside the domain of India because Greater Bangladesh or United Bengal outside the domain of India is just not the dream of the Bengali speaking people but it is their destiny.

If East or West Germany can reunite and become the greatest industrial power house and economy of Europe, I am sure within our lifetime due to BJP RSS fascist policy of Hindi Hindu and Hindustan, we will see United Bengal after the break up of British 🇬🇧 created Indian union 🇮🇳.

Jyoti Basu Lived a Life of Luxury having Cuban Cigars and Costly Whiskies. While people of Bengal Suffering, I Remember My Jethu(Dad’s Elder Brother) Who is a Retired-CA Studying in Kolkata in early 80s, he narrated the ordeal of how Bengal went from the most industrialised state to the most de-industrialised state. He also shifted and settled in Delhi in the 90s. What happened was a total sham. Even My father and all his cousins shifted to different cities for Jobs and settling down there. And visiting Kolkata and WB only on Pujo! Jyoti Basu only helped his Son Subrata Basu aka Chandan Basu to set up numerous companies and made him super rich. What a waste. Jyoti Basu and CPM destroyed Kolkata and West Bengal.
