I think a lot of flops are because people are tired of CGI movies. There is a reason that classics like Jaws, The Exorcist, Psycho, Ghostbusters (original) still are loved and watched today. Practical effects!

At this point, Disney is famous for its box office breaking successes, as well as its bombs...

And they're still chugging along like nothing happened, the epitome of too big to fail. It's easy to forget that Disney is not just about making movies, a lot of their money comes from stuff. So *much* stuff!
