Dash mats are an underrated but essential item. A decent one will protect your dash from the heat of the sun, particularly in Summer. The reason that's important is that if you do need to take out your dash for any reason, it's less brittle and less prone to breaking.

If you carry passengers or if you have a family you can get "tables" for the rear seats. My dad got two from amazon and they just clip on the front seat headrest.
Works great for mcdonalds or other stuff.
