The fashion designer in me wonders if it would have been helpful to use a styrofoam head (or a ball with a little improvised padding would do too) to put the hat on when fixing/gluing the patch onto the hat?
If you could get the head/padded ball about the size of the hat, it wouldn‘t flop around too much.
Plus: That way the curve of the hat would remain (mostly) in the original position and there would be extra pressure from the back to better combine the surfaces of the patch and hat…
Ok, ok… just my musings here… but that would have been my attempt on the attaching process. 😅

All in all that hat patch idea is definitely something I‘m going to try in the future.

I love the way you attached the patch to the hat, but is there a reason you completed the whole patch design before cutting it? I'd have thought that cutting it right at the start of the project would have given you a bit less work with the stamps and border.

That shape that you could not recall the name of is an hexagon. This is a six sided geometric form.

You kept the blue tape on the back when you brushed the glue on? Was that on purpose? Pro/cons leaving tape on vs. removing? Too much pulled up flesh fibers perhaps? Noob here.

Should have used a spade stamp, then beveled. Why free-hand something when there are better premade stamps you could have used? Trying too hard. /shrug
