In this video we catch up with John Oakes (AKA Classic Bike Man) and we get an update on where he's at in the workshop. Highlight of the day today is two more new bikes to add to the collection.

Fantastic video log. I'd be interested in seeing a follow-up video where we can ride along with you as you operate the HRD Model 80 - shifting, throttle etc. Brilliant bike, congratulations on the new addition to your collection!

Well that was certainly an enjoyable 20 minutes. I must agree with you on the Ducati. It's a great looking bike, and the color suits it well. I can hear the dreaded knock, but I'm sure you'll get it sorted in time. The Interceptor looks and sounds fantastic. A great all around modern bike.

Sometimes I get a bit flat about my small collection of bikes (4), think why do I do this, especially when things aren’t going well.
But, then I watch one of your videos and it gives me a lift, especially as you show as much enthusiasm for the later classic bikes as you do those amazing vintage ones you have. Thank you!

Always nice to get an update from John but I have questions. 1.) Who is this John Oakes fella and how does he have all these amazing motorcycles? He often says "our collection" or "we" but I don't know who he's talking about. At first I thought he worked for whoever's collection this was, like a curator, but after watching this video it's pretty clear he owns the collection. 2.) What does he do for his day job if this vintage motorcycle thing is just a hobby? That surprised me to hear.

When I was about twenty I owned a Desmo sport 500. I remember it was very finicky in respect to the right battery being fitted and having a full charge. With a less than fully charged battery it would give the problems you are experiencing.

I've seen that special bolt on the seatpost adjustment of old pedal cycles.
