GROWING CALLS TO TACKLE THE FILIBUSTER: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Patty Murray (D-WA), and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) hold a media availability.

A growing number of Democrats are calling to reform, or completely get rid of, the filibuster. In remarks on the Senate floor yesterday, Durbin, the #2 Democrat in the chamber, compared the filibuster to a ‘weapon of mass destruction.’ He explained that the Senate would continue to be ‘hitting legislative rock bottom’ as long as it remained in its current form.
