Thai farmers are not use stick to plant rice sprouts, wooden stick may the cuase of damage, they use hands and they don't pour any fertilizer to the canal, they walk along through their farm, step by step and throw fertilizer by hands or blower machine to effectively spread all over. They're not that careless.

The Thai government have price subsidies for the farmers, loan assistance, technology assistance and fertilizer assistance. It has also helped with irrigation. In the Philippines, the farmers do not get much assistance. And while Thai rice farms are flooded with much needed water, Philippine farms are mostly parched.
