Preseason is critical to figuring out fringe roster spots. Young players need every rep that they can get. Practice and drills can only teach you so much about a player's skills.

I had no idea who the 2nd team was!😂😂😂
Was it the colts?
Was it the packers?
😂😂😂

Preseason isnt for the fans or media. it is for the coaches and GMs. they use it to determine roster spots 40-53.

Richardson only started 6 games in college. He's still learning.

Pre season matters in the sense of experience and roster spots, but overall pre season record doesn’t seem to matter.

Dan Patrick’s comment at 4:45 just shows how little he knows. He’s an imposter. He said “Lamar Jackson is developing into a good, pretty good passer.” LJ has been a top-tier passer for years now. He’s incredible. And Dan Patrick has no idea because he watches zero film, even though he’s a “football analyst” by profession. The mediocrity that is accepted from the talking heads in this industry is just baffling. You have to be really obvious and unplugged to not know by now how great of a passer LJ is

The preseason record for your favorite team doesn't matter. The preseason in general doesn't matter to the first 40 players on the roster. But for players 41-80, the preseason definitely matters.

Dan Patrick and these bozos are like the last guys that should be commenting on stuff like this. They don’t know anything

We know it doesn't matter. But we wish it did matter.

Dont focus on record, just focus on player performance...

For example, Daniel Jones 😮

Pre-season has completely changed and past performance is not relevant. It’s literally just practice now. Nobody shows ANYTHING in these games on either side of the ball and it’s become 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers getting some opportunity to be noticed. I watch for individual performance but that’s even hard. Like watching can a guy block…can a guy tackle, can a guy cover. How was the starting QB performances in the pre-season….who the hell knows. They didn’t play much or run any kind of decent playbook. Too much over analysis and let’s get to actual games please that mean something.

Ever heard of the Ravens? Great preseason record, usually makes the playoffs.

I don't remember Peyton manning's colts ever winning a lot of preseason games

Of course it does, Dan....I mean, what else matters this time of year?...hint of sarcasm.

The NFL would love to make it matter to NFL.

I don’t think Dan and the Danette’s are to fond of CJ stroud. Really they’re up in arms on how wrong they were about him ever since last year’s draft 😅.

Look at point differential not record and that shows a different story.

Fact: Only two teams over the last 50 years have won the Super Bowl when going winless in preseason play ('82 Washington; '21 LA Rams)

Preseason record is meaningless! The players deciding games in the 4th quarter will be cut or practice squad at best
