You’re spitting all facts these players need to be able to accept endorsements on social media and be able to make money off their own name especially during a pandemic like damn

It's going to be hard for seniors to get scholarships

I agree, I played college basketball, its a job without pay and it affects your academics. I had knee problems and I was never taken to see a doctor, they just had me ice my knee and keep practicing, the season had not even started yet. This was an NAIA college. I ended up giving up the "Scholarship" and paid for my education got two degrees. Its a job plain and simple.

What I've always wondered is why "athletics" isn't their degree in the first place. There should be a specific degree for "student-athletes" just like there is for musicians or actors where they learn skills they can actually use and take advantage of. Physiotherapy, money management for athletes, career paths for when your athletic career ends, Film study could even be a course just stuff like that and that way getting a scholarship also makes a lot more sense because the school has something to offer for them specifically instead of offering their team.... I don't know this isn't a fully fleshed out thought but as a music major i've always thought there should be a sports major as well

Idk why Trump is in the thumbnail. He’s the one that’s been fighting to keep the season alive

Bro sharp you are right why can’t it be like a NFL development league where you don’t have to go to college and can get paid by just doing what you love.We need to get a movement going

I understand that Trevor Lawrence and other top talent make so much money for these programs but Ball States 3rd string TE gets more from his degree than he'll ever get from football. That's why I believe making money off of name and likeness is fair but a base salary just doesn't make too much sense

I understand your point but what if one of these top college players who start playing on sundays get a career ending injury and have nothing to fall back on. I feel that the education during college will help them have a back up plan, csnt ever be too prepared for the future you never know what might happen

I love your content and I hear everything you are saying. My ONLY thing is when these kids don’t make it to the nfl what happens next for them. the image and likeness can only take them so far before the next big thing comes around. A lot of these kids are financially literate. I think they should get paid but saying they can slack off in school is wrong. Education is important. Yes they should have health insurance and stuff of that nature. Only a handful kids get as big to have a following out of high school. IDK just my thoughts. Again love the content brotha. Keep it up.

Honestly they dont care about their “student athletes” they just care about the money and its messed up that they dont get paid

Agree to.a point fam.. the mass majority of the player don’t get drafted though. And if they do they make the practice squad and could be out of the league in a year. A education will serve these kids in the long term over a pro career that may never happen. Great vid man

It is all nuts. I hate they are not getting to showcase their talents. I know they want to play and compete badly. I do believe that education is huge, even when does come to the Sunday talent players. Education can take them even farther along with their physical talent.

There are pro football leagues outside the US. They're leagues in Europe and asia. I do wish those places can become alternatives for players coming out of high school.

Sorry, but Clemson actually focuses quite a bit on its football graduation rate. Travis Etienne came back to graduate. Clemson picks talented players that aren't singularly focused on football. Paw Journey, micro-internships, etc. are a big focus because not all of Clemson's players get drafted to the NFL like Trevor Lawrence. Many with low round drafts don't last long and need a backup career.

Most college football players aren’t going pro tho. There’s al lot more football than Power 5. And even on those teams it’s only a handful of players who don’t need to worry abt academics at all.

So your saying the 5% of collegiate who are going to get drafted shouldn't have to participate in classes 🤔 what if they are a bust or get injured shouldn't they have that degree to fall back on

If ncaa players are allowed to completely shift their time and attention and presence at school to 100% on playing football then there needs to be a distinction between what caliber of players get that opportunity. No d2 or d3 kid at like San Diego is going to the nfl draft and his school certainly isn’t stocking shelves with his jersey. Those kinds of kids who are gonna have normal careers after college ball can’t just be all on football thru college and come out with no degree or lack of skills from their degree

I’m a Purdue and Big Ten fan but man I am so disappointed in the Big Ten for making this decision so fast. I always saw us as the tough midwestern conference but now we are in the category with the PAC-12 smh🤦🏼‍♂️

I don’t think attendance goes down if people like Trevor Lawrence etc opt out people watch sports for the team not the player
