God is Love: Why Finding Common Ground Is Key to LGBTQ Folks Feeling Welcomed In Religious Spaces

Growing up, Alphonso David spent a lot of time at the Lord’s house.

Whether he was attending his mother’s three and a half hour long Baptist services or his father’s 60-minute Methodist church, the president of the Human Rights Campaign said he spent hours every week in Sunday school, participating in the choir, and learning about God.

But despite growing up in the church, David did not consider the church a “safe space.”

“I learned very early on that being gay was not accepted,” he told The Root.

It wasn’t until later on in life that David developed a relationship with God—a God who would accept him for exactly who he was. So in conjunction with the Human Rights Campaign’s Religion and Faith Director, David launched a new initiative: “Coming Home to Faith: A Search for Common Ground.”

You should make up your own religion, sense you are making up what The Most High is. The Most High made it very clear what he is about. If that isn’t you then you need to except it or change. The Most High doesn’t care about your feelings or political correctness. He cares about if you have a righteous heart and are following his commandments. Truth is truth, and not everyone can handle it.

Since you have one video about Prince and made a lot of articles about him after his death, one of his iconic quotes that said "God is love, love is God", but nooo these people of The Root pretend to love him and continue cashing in on him.

The wrath of God is severe. Telling them that their soul is at risk is the job of a pastor. If you love someone you try to save their soul. This guy just needs to have people to tell him that what he is doing is ok.
