I was just a kid when I discovered Terraria. Now I'm almost 18 and this game is still fun to play. If not normally, then on multiplayer, not on multiplayer, then adventure maps. Isn't enough? Well I have to say I'm not actively playing Terraria anymore, but I would still say it is my most favourite game and I still hope for Terraria updates and Terraria Otherworld updates.
Also, you got a better connection to the devs than me and I'm sure you'll hand over positive feedback, so I can just say that I will continue to support them no matter what's gonna happen.
And I want more of these insanely huge updates which have such a big impact on me that I just can't sleep for a week straight before they release. It's been like this for 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3.

I started playing Terraria about a year before the 1.2 update came out. I was in 4th grade (USA) and surprisingly my parents let a 9-yo kid play Terraria. The 1.2 update was the most nostalgic for me... I remember farming all the early HM swords and souls of might for the Excalibur in 1.1. The next day, I beat Skeletron Prime. 7 hours later, 1.2 was released.
Like if you remember when the Water Bolt projectiles were a lot THICCer and the Orb of Light was still in the game ;)

Throwback to when:

-You fell through two block wide holes in the ground instead of running over them
-You destroyed furniture and heart crystals with hammers
-Starfury was the best thing ever
-We had no Crimson
-You had to jump to climb one block higher instead of just running upwards nowadays
-Zapinator was a thing
-We had no auto cursor and went repeatedly left and left with our mouse digging a hellevator through a large world without a care in the world
-We didn't have health bars under monsters so you had to mouse over a boss during an intense fight to see their health. Oh how low is that Skeleton Prime? I dunno let me just follow him with my mouse while also fighting, healing and dodging him and read the little text next to my cursor with how much health he has :)
-We had no maps
-We waited years for the sweet sweet 1.3 and didn't get tired of 1.2 while waiting for it
-Modding was something only demigods could do
-You had to destroy grass on dirt blocks so you could place a block on it, instead of placing a block immediately destroying the decorative grass
-Getting your first wings and feeling like you can fly forever ❤
-Upgrading your first set of boots
-The time you saw 'You feel an evil presence watching you' and the likes of it in the bottom left corner and though 'Oh crap. What did I just do.' and ending up getting your whole home and NPCs wrecked by a boss two minutes later
-And any story you have from when you were new to the game and had bunches of fun :)

I played the leaked alpha before the game was released because I was so desperate to play it after watching Redigit, Blue and Paperbats let's plays. I still rewatch those let's plays sometimes for the nostalgia. And it's funny to think that Terraria was called a clone of Minecraft for so long when they were both released just a year apart. And as of a couple of days ago, Terraria: Otherworld has been officially cancelled.
