The former US president's pledge would reduce levies for some elderly Americans but further strain benefits for those who have yet to retire. Trump has made tax cuts a central promise of his campaign, though he has shared few details so far.

Why don't you tell everyone how your tax cut for the rich put our people in 1.9 trillion in debt, and is growing every year until that tax code is changed because you made it Permanent while the tax break you gave to the people was Temporary. Tell them that starting in 2027 it will cost us, 400 billion a year for 10 years.

He is throwing everything on the wall to see what will stick. In some states, seniors are not paying taxes on social security, so how will he fix that? Or will he take credit for the already established law? Also, the US gov’t need to pay back the money they took out of social security. That would probably make it solvent.

I just want everyone to be clear. I won my social security case in 2018. By their own guidelines they are supposed to pay settlements within 6 months. I didn't get mine for 2 years because Trump denied payouts to new cases. When Biden came into office, I finally got my settlement. I was a hard working man who ruined his career saving a co-worker. I suffered for years before I won my case only to be stiffed by DT. BTW... I was an Electrical Engineering Tech that made $100k a year. Now I get $1k a month for a total of $12k a year. We are not "living high on the hog" like repubs say we are. I barely get by.
