Cone Roller for Sheet-Metal

In this video I make a sheet-metal slip roll for shaping cones and cylinders. The tool I made is quite small, but yet very rigid due to the variable width design. The design can of course be scaled for smaller or bigger, but add some chain or belt to make both lower rollers driving. The open end without bearings gives some new possibilities to use the roller, most still uncovered.

I really enjoy the innovative designs you have come up with. I saw a roller design at Vans Aircraft that was 14-is feet long and had 1" dia rollers. It was extensively reinforced with backup rollers like yours. They do thin aluminum and were fitting for end to end numeric control and radial control of the bending roller to make the airfoil shapes on the leading edge of an airplane wing. Your design brings the general concept into reach of us mere mortals. Thanks for super interesting videos. Hope you can have one each year!!

Fantastic build !
If you connect the 2 lower rollers with gears or sprockets/chain, the rolling process will be much easier. You could also connect the top with a loose chain for 3x the working power.
My roll machine has 2 of them connected with direct gears. (Top and 1 bottom)

Great Job Kerkko, perhaps the next update for the roller is to add a 90 degree drive with an old drill to turn the roller.
