Wes will always be Limp Bizkit's guitarist but we appreciate what Mike did when Wes left for a while. But, I'm still hoping that one day Mike would come back and play alongside Wes and the whole Bizkit crew

Mike Smith did a good job, but Wes Borland is on another level. Wes is THE sound of Limp Bizkit.

Mike did a lovely job, he is precision. But Wes is random, he is the soul for Limp Bizkit.

Wes definitely is a unique guitarist with a unique sound and some crazy riffs, but my favourite overall Bizkit album for the diversity in the song writing is Results May Vary and I love almost everything Limp Bizkit

Depends on how you look at them. Technically Mike is a better player (based on this video alone). Wes, on the other hand is on a whole different level if you judge creativity. The dude is a fidgety, dark and unpredictable genius. But if you listen to solo on Gold Cobra the guy is more than capable to play one but he just doesn't want to because lightspeed shredding is not Limp Bizkit thing. They are more groove and riff oriented...

Mike smith play a good solo in underneath the gun, but when I Heard Shotgun’s guitar solo I say damn Then Wes is very able to play a guitar solo but he don’t want cause is not his nature

Love how people who knows nothing about guitar playing saying that technically Mike better than Wes. Wes miles ahead technically and musicwise of course.

With all due respect to Mike Smith, Wes Board IS Limp Bizkit.

Don’t know why they couldn’t have kept Mike after Wes came back, it would be interesting for them to have two guitarists.

I dont care about the riffs the songs the stage presence who wrote the songs etc....but when i close my eyes i just favour mikes sound especially live

I love mike smiths live energy with all the neck breaking headbanging like in the finsbury park 2003 concert (full nelson as a good example). captures the aggressiveness of the songs so well and maybe also pushed fred durst to go extra hard.

Impossible to call really. Wes Borland is super original with playing style & looks. Big shoes for Mike to fill but he's a total unit on the guitar as well. Hard to jump into a role & make it your own but have to hand it to him for keeping the band going. Die hard fans will never be happy either way! I'm a bassist & just want to jam with the drummer anyway hahaha would be more than happy happy to play with either.

MIKE IS A BEAST but it not limp bizkit style he needed to be in another band that suited him better

Both were cool as fuck!!! Both very similar IMO, mike slammed that Borland style and done really well! But Borland will always be in my top 3 favourite guitarists!

Sort of that argument for Hillel Slovak and
John Frusciante for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Slovak was talented a much more free spirit character that was early RCP, when Frusciante joined he brought it in a more technical serious approach.
