My Anytone AT-D578UVII has a feature called digital monitor, which allows me to hear any talkgroups from different colours codes and time slots. As long as you set a correct frequency, you can hear anything.

Great video, as usual, thank you! We made the mistake to do shots every time you said "promiscuous mode". Oops.

I have the Any Tone AT D868UV and it has promiscuous mode that will receive any Talk Group and any Time Slot, and any Color Code on the same frequency.

I do not think you make it clear that promiscuous mode allows you to hear Talks Group that are on the same frequency and repeater that the talk group your listening to is on. So if a repeater has TG 1, 3 10 and 11 lets say, on a frequency of 444.444 MHz (made up frequency) and you are listening to TG 1 on frequency 444.444mhz, you will hear transmissions from TG 3, or 10, or 11 if they happen to have conversations on them on that frequency. . But if you are on another repeater, lets say repeater 443.443 mhz, you will not hear the talk groups on 444.444 mhz. Promiscuous mode will only allow you to hear the talk groups on the repeater and frequency you are currently on. If you move to another repeater you will be able to use promiscuous mode for the talk groups on that repeater. When I first got my AnyTone 868 I thought i could just get on a frequency and it would allow me to hear anything on that frequency. Of course if you have the frequency and color code and time slot you will hear conversations. Oh, on the Anytone 868 you can hear any color code and time slot in promiscuous.

Is there any requirement for the group ID if I use promiscuous mode? I mean, I notice that the TYT MD380 only allows you to manually dial a 4-digit group ID on the radio's display, but TBRO radios offer group ID from 1 to 1677_ _ _ _. So could the promiscuous mode be able to listen to a group that is beyond the 4-digit range, say, TG 106842? Another question is: Does anytone D878 have promiscuous mode?

Does any of you guys have a Baofeng DM1702 and any unofficial firmware for it?

FYI, the custom firmware for the MD-380 that enabled promiscuous mode does NOT work for the MD-UV380. The UV380 is basically a non-waterproof 390.

con el modo promiscuo puede escuchar transmisiones dmr con ras?

So with promiscuous mode you can't talk back from what I understood from you. So how could I detect the programing group of other radios? Example a Motorola DMR XPR3500 group and join it with the TYT.

HI. I'm looking for a front face of a TYT MD 380 or Retevis RT3S.
Just the front face with plastic glass not broken.
You got that ?
I'm in Swiss. Thanks.

Good video - thanks.
I'm still waiting to take my foundation course, so as yet have no call sign / code.
Can I still hear transmissions in that case, until I get my licence?
Also, is there a setting where you can leave the screen on, like the tyt's?

Thanks

I have a question if anyone can answer. A frequency which was previously analogue for our local shopwatch keeps coming through on my analogue scanner but as it's digital I can't hear speech, just noise. If I buy a DMR radio and input the same frequency will I be able to actually hear speech? Or is that too easy 🤣

Do you know any firmware for the RT3S to get promiscuous mode? I'm still using it from the box with HAM repeaters added in but want to venture into scanning local radios.

Using promiscuous mode, can I listen to a channel/radio which is secured with a key?

Promiscuous mode loses any privacy issue. I don't really recommend it. It seems to me that promiscuous mode isn't really powerful as colour code and time slot have to be specified under this mode. How about repeater channel? Can I use it in a repeater channel? OR does it only work on simplex channels?

I'm a little confused. If I want to listen to all the talk groups on a DMR repeater and have promiscuous mode enabled, Do I still have to have the correct color code and time slot if I just want to hear the talk groups? Also, if I have the correct color code and time slot enabled and transmit, does every talk group hear me at one time?

So I have a local EMS Service that uses DMR. That's all I know. I do not know Color Code, Time Slot, Group, ETC. Will this sniff it out for me? Thanks Brother. Love your vids. Anytime I'm messing with DMR I always come to your channel.
