Dozer main here (T1 since around new years). Most of the video is spot on, but my two additional cents:
1) The hit registration is NOT fine when the target is also moving, I have thought soo many times "yeah, they are right in the sweet spot! I got 'em!", but their hitbox just isn't there anymore. The only reliable bashing in my experience is the scenario you described where an enemy runs towards you, and you are backing away. Those usually hit. Rule of thumb for me is to switch to gun if the enemy isn't just standing there.
2) The shield is a life saver when caught off guard by a sniper/dmr, they might hit the first shot, but then I just sit there and take a few hits to the shield until health has regenerated. I always imagine their frustration increasing with every 'plink'.

I've been using Dozer a bit lately with the med crate, smokes, and the 12M Auto with a flashlight attachment. It's an absolute blast on certain objectives, so many people start running at you when you have the shield up, and as soon as they get within about 30m or less you drop the shield and start blasting, especially if they're sprinting. I think the blinding effect of the flashlight and the 12M's surprisingly decent damage at mid-range surprises a lot of people.

I've been having a blast playing with Dozer lately. T1 is gonna be long grind but a satisfying one nonetheless! Another good combo for Dozer is pairing him with EMP Grenades and C5. He can push tanks and heavy armor with C5 after the EMP and the explosive damage reduction helps him eat up some explosive rounds.

I been trying this guy out recently and omg i practically did everything u said not to do. I go ham cap America style shield up 24/7 as my main squeeze. Lol. But now with the tips u said, it's time for round 2.

I find explosives bad against Dozers, both due to the shield and his blast resistance. However, C5 deals good damage. Throw it in front of you and lure Dozer to run right at you, then detonate the C5 just as he runs over it. I recommend throwing more than 1 pack to make a certain kill.
