Butte Montana Is Amazing
Показать описание
Butte Montana was once the richest city in the world. Today Butte Montana is not quite what it was, but Butte is such an amazing place to visit. Butte Montana is full of history, and the Montana city has plenty of museums to get up close. Once upon a time Butte Montana had the largest China town between Minneapolis and Seattle. Today most of Butte's Chinese community has moved on, but Butte Montana does have the incredible Mai Wah Museum filled with original artifacts from when Butte Montana's China town was in full swing. Butte Montana owes it's existence to the mining industry, and was once home to one of the copper kings of Montana, William A. Clark. William A. Clark's Copper King Mansion is here in Butte. Today the mansion functions as a museum as well as a bed and breakfast. If you decide to visit Butte Montana you can even stay in William Clark's home. Another great Butte attraction is the World Mining Museum. As mentioned, Butte Montana owes it's existence to the mining industry. Back in the 1960s this Butte mine, the Orphan Girl, was converted into a museum so that we can have a close look at what so many Butte residents did for work. Mining is a dangerous occupation, and there have been accidents in Butte Montana's history. Not far from uptown Butte is a memorial for the Granite Mountain and Speculator Mine disaster. 168 of Butte's local minors lost their lives in the fire. The memorial was erected so that everyone living in or visiting Butte Montana could remember those who were lost. I hope you enjoy this visit with us to Butte Montana.
