Why You Should AVOID Morpheus8 Microneedling Skin Treatment! This is NOT a Facelift!

Morpheus8 is a popular microneedling treatment that is said to be an alternative to a facelift. Today, Dr. Karam is sharing what Morpheus8 is, and his thoughts and opinions about the treatment. Morpheus8 does have potential benefits, especially in terms of collagen production. The downside of the Morpheus8 treatment is that it eliminates good facial fat and volume, which is what we are all trying to gain back as we age. The treatment, when performed correctly, can definitely improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. What Morpheus8 fails to address, though, are the more significant signs of aging like laxity and jowling. While microneedling and Morpheus8 can be helpful treatments for your skin, it will never replace facelifts. Procedures like facelifts and fat transfers will be more effective in the long run with addressing facial skin aging.

Dude, we don't all have $250, 000 for your facelifts. Morpheus doesn't do harm. It works nicely.

I did Morpheus.
1- Don’t do where you want to keep fat. Leave cheek area alone
2-Make sure they have sufficient options for numbing pain. Their standard 1 hour for numbing cream is not enough.
3-Do not assume the technician knows depth. Ask.
1-2mm is best
4+ mm and you’ll lose fat !

Dude…..you don’t have to only use it at 4mm deep. That’s only for fat loss. Mostly it’s done 2mm. I haven’t done it but you are not telling the whole story, or correctly. They can unwanted fat by going deep, or tighten skin. Will this replace a facelift result? Ofcourse not. Can it tighten skin? Yes…. Can it melt unwanted fat? Yes… the end

As an aesthetician, I perform this treatment, I understand what he is saying but, it depends on the settings. It’s like saying I’m not a fan of paint and paint brushes because the painting I saw was bad. It depends on the artist

Completely agree with you Dr Karam. I was interested to do something for my neck. So I ask my plastic surgeon what were the options. To conclude very quickly here, it's better to ask for a surgery. A semi face-lift including the neck, or just a neck surgery, will give you long term results instead a Morpheus. With the surgery you do it one time and that's it! Others techniques are temporarily and are expensive to. Put your money where it worth it.

The 4mm to 5mm depth is not used on the face thanks. Please educate yourself about the actual parameters used for particular areas before you spread incorrect information.

It really depends on the person who handling the machine. I had a wonderful plastic surgeon did it for me, my fat did not diminished and I love the result. When I moved to MA, I had a esthetician to do it for me, and I noticed my face are thinner, so it really depends on the person who handle the work

I like it because it has improved my skin on my face, neck and chest! I like this treatment better than just doing a standard Dr Pen micro needling. I don’t use it for “face lift.” I am not that dumb.

I need fat grafts in my temples and around my under eyes after 3 Morpheus8 treatments. I look so skeletal in those areas. It completely melted the fat in those boney areas. I don’t look the same anymore. Worse mistake of my life.

Thank you for spreading the truth about this device. I know it’s in the providers hands, but my precious face fat got melted all over. Which brought my eyebrows down to sag, neck is more crepey, and Jowls are more prominent 😢😢😢

I am a cosmetic dermatologist so i feel we need to draw the line actually…
In younger patients we don’t see any sagging at all..so obviously we can go ahead with a myriad of procedures put there to improve skin condition etc
But in older patients I believe more surgical procedures maybe necessary if the skin condition is bad noticeable during a consult…esp if the patient hadn’t done any procedures at all when younger..
So basically condition of the skin at consultation is the key to the right kind of treatment

I don't think there is an alternative for face lifting! Nthg can lift the face like surgery ! But I think it is a good start for younger patients in their 30s and 40's who are not good candidates "yet" for FL ! Besides, it can be a good alternative for people who want to get some lifting and can't afford a FL !

I just received my first Morpheus 8 treatment and I can already see positive results and with zero pain unlike what many other people mentioned in other videos. I would never get a face lift. Being a leather face is not my goal just smooth bright skin.

I have done Morpheus 8 once. I have a boney face, so I told them I didn't want to lose any face fat. The treatment only went 2mm deep to avoid fat dissolve. Face tightening is obvious. Unfortunately, I had a bacterial infection due to the treatment. My whole face started to have flareups and breakouts. The acne is inflamed, itchy and red. It took me 2 months to recover. I don't think I will have it again.

If you are old and have hanging skin like the pic, morpheus is not for you. You will need a facelift. If you have a little hanging skin in the neck then definitely get morpheus. It will make your neck look younger.

I almost fell in the trap of Vivace and Morpheus8. It is not a trap it is a very well-done marketing, and for women in their 50's it is a monetary hope. Watching you and some other doctors, I got way more educated and understood one thing : save and do a facelift
