The US pronunciation of Birmingham is exactly as you said, Birming-ham.

But the UK pronunciation is different. It's more like Birming-erm. Basically all other UK cities and names ending in -ham are pronounced similarly. The English like to drop vowels.

Went there one time on a trip to find my long lost mother there, I woke up naked on a beach the day after I got drugged by her maid, robbed by a cabbie, and met up with an old friend. Somehow got caught with the local gangs, yakuza, and religious cults.

I ended up becoming friends with the cabbie and maid, I did find my mother and put a stop to the hoarding of nuclear tanks. It was a wild trip, but it was so much fun!
