Don't Fall In Love With This Drum Set (Ludwig Super Classic)

I've ended up with a stunningly good condition 1967 Ludwig Super Classic "Ringo kit". Great, right? Wrong. This is exactly the kind of drum set that I'm going to grow really attached to, and I really should be selling it. I mean, I am selling it. I'm not keeping it. I'm not. Please buy it.

Anyways, let's set it up and play it just for one video...

I still have my 1967 Ludwig Classic Drum Set w/a black diamond pearl finish my parents bought me in 1970 when I was 7 yrs old. The snare is a 5 1/2 X 14 with the same finish. Not only are these drums all original and in mint condition, but they also carry a very sentimental value to me since my father was a drummer and encouraged me to play. These drums will be an heirloom to my children when I'm gone.

Don't you dare selling this kit! Believe me, you'll regret it. I have a black oyster set (20-12-14) and it will stay with me as long as i'm on this planet. You simply need this sound in your drum arsenal

I have reacquired a 1965 Super classic in black diamond pearl, and am absolutely in love with them. My very first drum set was a 1965 super classic in red sparkle. I love them so much, I found matching 14x14 and 8x12 toms with very close serial numbers to add to it!

I had two vintage Black Oyster kits and sold them both. One was a club date set and the other was in sizes 20, 12, 14. I don't think I will miss them too much as long as I keep my 65 Champagne Sparkle (see my latest video on that) and I just didn't need 3 kits that were all pretty similar! Suffice to say I got a pretty penny for them as well.

I've got a mint 1964 DownBeat kit in silver sparkle with Nickel over brass hardware with 1400 Ludwig cymbal stands and a 1123 flat base hi hat stand. My snare is a 5.5x14" that was date stamped on Dec. 4th 1963. It has a very low serial # . This set is a keeper.

I own a 1965 all original Marine white pearl kit with 14" snare, 12 & 13" rack toms & 16" floor tom, 22" bass in mint condition, along with a 1967 blue sparkle kit with the same drum sizes and original Avedis and Paiste cymbals and hats, also in great condition, and I would not sell these kits. They will only grow in value. And they sound great! While your price may seem high to some, that kit is worth it. If I had the extra cash burning a hole in my wallet, I would buy your kit. I hope to add a kit like this to my Ludwig collection in the future.

That kit looks and sounds amazing. I hope you didn’t sell it.

In that catalog shot, a few pages away, I have the champagne sparkle Hollywood kit. Mint, '69 clear maple interiors, all new for '69 Atlas hardware. Still just the perfect all around set of drums. They will be with me 'till the end. Those are great drums you have there!

Hello ….I’m interested, looking for a Ringo kit for very long time. What is the asking price. Thank you, Alfredo from Ontario Canada.

What’s the snare..?
Beautiful drums.
I have a 1967 in these, in a blue oyster pearl, with a Supraphonic snare.

That snare would sound even better tuned up higher

Lovely kit! What is the kick drum “treatment” here? Looks like a Powerstroke on the batter side, and an Emperor on the front? Anything inside the drum? Thanks!

Cole, you should attach this video to your Reverb listing.

I just found your listing and I have to say that they are craaaazy expensive and I would never pay that much for a set of drums!!! 😜

For real though, cool kit, hope you can find the right buyer! I love Ludwig's

Edit: also yes, document that thing while you have it!

I had this exact kit circa 1965 and got rid of except for the supraphonic snare. I still kick myself for doing that.
