The Scottish Greens will not support First Minister Humza Yousaf in a confidence vote next week after their power-sharing deal with the SNP collapsed, the party has said.

Scotland's First Minister Humza Yousaf called an emergency meeting of his Cabinet on Thursday morning amid mounting tensions between the two parties.

Yousaf's political future now hangs in the balance as he relies on Alex Salmond's Alba Party for a single vote to see him through the no-confidence vote.

In this video, Andrew Marr puts Alex Salmond on the spot: will the Alba Party decide to save the Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf in next week's no-confidence vote?

It says something about other SNP MP’s that they had confidence in Humza Yousaf, in the first place. The people of Scotland deserve better.

Humza’s self belief has always outweighed his actual ability in post and we’re seeing this now at its most detrimental to the SNP. Sad. They had more potential than this but chose to focus on chastisement of swathes of the Scottish public instead. Too many independence supporters are now fed up of what they see as SNP vanity projects in place of real pursuit of independence.

It's about time us, the Scottish people, get rid of the SNP and slimy politicians/ex politicians like Alex Salmond.

If Humza goes people will say Islamophobia. Infact, Humza himself will probably say racism.

Alba, you have my vote. Common sense issues, the pursuit of independence & the protection of women's & young girls. NHS funding, education & the environment. Let's get back to work in Scotland.

As a Muslim I mistakenly had high hopes for Hamza Yusuf. But the reason he got the job is because Sturgeon knew about the dodgy deals and financial impropriety. Then we had this lunatic Hate Crime bill. Not to mention a fixation with promoting transgender weirdness and mental health craziness. Independence is a dead duck. Identity politics is a dead end....

I think we can assume that Alba will throw their lot in with the SNP and pick up a ministerial post in the interim. Alba has no incentive to have an election.

Here lies the problem for both the SNP and the Alba parties. We voted to stay in the UK, move on, and deal with the important issues, Scots are fed up with this one issue agenda. Ridiculous!!!
