Thank you Michelle, I too have severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. I use subtitles where they are available but my husband finds them distracting on TV - I can understand that. I watch TV on a laptop and use headphones as well as subtitles, despite hearing aids. Not only did I sign the petition, I wrote to the TV channels and put the point of view for the deaf and hard of hearing. The response was not encouraging. I do not understand why Scotland's TV channels automatically have sign language for new bulletins yet the all powerful BBC in England does not! I don't use sign language but I am aware that many deaf people do. It will be a long time, I fear, before deafness is not regarded as something of a joke (not so with those who suffer sight loss/severely impaired vision) and seen for the isolating disability that it is. Keep campaigning and explaining - it's the only way. Let's hear it for the deaf!!! (That's my slogan - it does not belong to any official organisation!)

Unfortunately this current Government is unlikely to do anything to combat the problem 😕

I hope the streamers will be included in your campaign. Curzon Home Cinema shows good films, but they don't have sub-titles.
