As a reseller since the early 2000's my best move was to hire my young sons (then ages 8-13) to help with everything except the actual listing. I had them steam clothing, package, find inventory, etc. By hiring them (I kept excellent records) at minimum wage I was able to add that as a business expense and also all their earned income, I opened custodial Roth IRAs and put all their earnings in them. When my sons turned 21, the IRAs became their own and now each boy has over $80K saved up for retirement. This is all legal. The IRS indicates that it has to be earned income and there is no minimum age. Just keep accurate records.

P.S. It's not a 'Death Pile'...it's a 'Money Pile' because there's money to be made once you get it listed ;) Thank you for your plethora of knowledge. Your crazy numbers & the way you break it down makes total sense to me! Keep up the good work!

I am glad to find reseller channels that don't spend the whole time faking their stuff for content. Thank you for this

A very helpful video. Thanks. What I am dumbfounded by is how quickly those photos are uploaded! With my internet speed at my house I routinely wait 2-4 minutes per photo to upload. I figured it was faster in cities, but I had no idea how much time I was losing just in the speed available here.

Good video.
Since most buyers use the app, use the app for the entire process.
Thats how I have been listing for years.
I give myself an advantage by always using one of my own listings to build on.
No surprises from someone else's listing.
Even changing the category and altering the title, is still faster for me.
Sometimes, I take a batch of pictures and I can list anywhere.
(park, store, waiting in line, hospital, beach, yard, etc.)
Similar to making offers to buyers. Works almost everywhere.

When I’m out sourcing I normally look up the item on ebay to find out the sold comps and sell through rate. if I make the decision that I’m going to buy it I go ahead and do a sell similar right then and create a draft. That way I’m not having to look for it again a 2nd time when I’m ready to list it.

Just wanted to say THANKS! You just saved me at least an hour a day. I knew there must be a quicker way to upload/download photos to eBay. I went from over 5 minutes per listing, to around 1 minute (just on getting the pics from my phone to the actual listing). Listing at least 15 items per day, the time savings, not to mention shortening the worst part of listing, has been a blessing. Continued success. Take care!

Thank you for the spreadsheet!! I have been needing to calculate my metrics in order to accurately adjust my listings per day for a while now. Your video gave me the kick in the rear needed to get down and figure out the path to get back on track. Having a clear picture will help tremendously. I really like how you present and break down the info in your videos and also appreciate the motivation it generates for me and I am sure many others, too :)

Just what I needed as a new reseller. Thank you Justin for taking the time to explain everything in such a concise easy to understand manner.

Primo content, thx. I agree listing is a drag. Having daily listing minimums helps, also I always have several saved in drafts. That way I don't always have to start them from scratch. I also make my thrifting time contingent on popping out new listings, so I don't walk into a thrift store unless I've met my listing minimums that day, good motivation.

Thank you for the spreadsheet. As a former District Manager, I love numbers! The problem is I needed someone like you to give me a breakdown to better focus on my personal goals. Thank you for that! I am new eBay Seller, just since June. But things are building and I am so excited of where I can go with this! Really want to be part of your Beta Test! Keep up the thorough videos! They are awesome!

Algebra for the win! 😂 Seriously though. So much of this goes against what people say to us newbies. When I say my sales are tanking, the response is usually take better pictures, go over your listings, do your research and study comps, don’t offer free shipping, turn on accept offers, etc. I spend hours listing and none of that seems to work. I’m starting to wing it a little more. And I don’t have the set up to take better photos so there’s that. And it’s really hard to find the discipline to keep listing when your sales are zero. It feels like screaming into the void. I’ll keep doing this for a few more months and then I’ll have to reevaluate. Thanks for your videos. I enjoy your pragmatic approach!

Hey Justin, really enjoying your videos. I recently got into reselling on eBay with my son (14) as a way to spend more time with him and teach him about business. He likes the flashy videos that show a rare piece worth eleventy billion dollars someone picked up for a quarter at a garage sale. I, on the other hand, was in financial sales for 20 years and tracked Everything in my business, so I really appreciate your videos and teaching style. In fact I've just started having him watch them with me as we both take notes. This was the first one we watched together as I agree listing is paramount to success. Thanks for the spreadsheet and I look forward to your app.

YouTube is hard. You are making good content and editing it very well. It's hard coming from an analytical place to know what is going to work or not and can be very frustrating. Then, you start to figure out what YouTube wants but aren't sure that's what you want to make all the time. Like I said, it's hard. You've grown well over the last 5-6 months it looks like. I just wanted to encourage you to keep it up.

Probably the most helpful Youtube video I have watched in my current journey. Super part time, moving to part time since I got let go from my job so I have time to get things in order while searching for a new job, or with help from this video and your spreadsheet, figuring what I would need to go full time. I just passed 250 and hit 300 listings just in the last 3 weeks. Although living in San Diego, my numbers are a lot higher than most who live in the Midwest, but an excellent video and tool!! Thanks!!!

I like the shortcuts tip! I'll probably set those up shortly. One of the things that I use that I started doing in college while writing papers was to add cut/ closed tab/last page/next page to gaming mouse key function buttons. It has helped a ton so I don't even need a hand on the keyboard except for pricing.

I felt like I sat in a math class completely confused. But then it clicked. Thank you so much for this video. It made a ton of sense!

One listing trick that works for me is taking a full day of just taking pics and saving them in drafts. That way if I am too tired to take pics, at least I can list.
