Sony Cybershot Camera Lens not open and Fix it

Phew! Before I considered to try something else, I tried removing the battery - charge it 100%, remove the memory card, put the battery, press the power button - no response. Remove the battery, put back the same memory card, insert the battery, power on - and, viola! It worked like a charm! Thank you Shafiq 360 World!! (Ours is a Canon PowerShot SD750 - very reliable for many years now.)

I had tried everything I could find online for my cybershot, it showed the same error message and the lens barrel kept opening and closing. hitting it with a pencil immediately solved the issue. of course.

I would have preferred if you put the bad card back in to show that the problem returned with the bad card - confirmation that the card itself was damaged, and it was not just a poor connection which could have been fixed by just taking the old card out and putting it back in again.

My cybershot has been damaged by a fall to which the lense or whatever that thing that opens is stuck :(

I also have the same problem. but do I have to change the SD card? because I can still see the photos in SD card using the camera. is it really because the memory card for my case?
