Hewlett-Packard Spectre X360 Laptop PC - Hands On Review

The HP Spectre x360 ia a system that thoroughly embodies the potential of a modern Windows PC. It’s easy to see why the system deserves attention. Our review model, a mid-range version, offers a Core i5-5200U processor, eight gigabytes of RAM, a 256GB solid state drive and a 13-inch 1080p display, all for $1,000. That puts it in league with the best Windows machines.

As the laptop’s name implies, it converts from laptop to tablet by folding the display 360 degrees. While the 360-degree hinge works well, the laptop weighs 3.26 pounds and has a 13-inch display, so it’s not exactly comfortable to hold and use in tablet mode.

The x360’s most interesting feature – its massive touchpad measures almost six inches wide. The extra-wide surface does more than just provide more space for wagging your finger. It also offers extra room for using the multi-tasking and Charms bar gestures in Windows 10. The touchpad on the x360 is arguably the best you’ll find on any Windows notebook.

The constantly lit backlight key you complain about can be turned off in a BIOS setting.

This review was at best Piss poor...I've seen countless proffessional reviews on this laptop that really go in depth. .aswell as reviews that actually put this laptop up against its competitors and it does very a reason it was awarded best ultrabook at CES 2015...this is the only Windows ultrabook that has really done Windows 8 justice thanks to the personal hands-on tweaking done by Microsoft aswell...i own a 15" 2014 Macbook pro but thankfully Windows has a nice offering due to HP...personally I can now enjoy the best of both worlds.

This review was terrible! You never mentioned the Synaptics active digitizer built in that allows you to write and draw on it. The tablet mode isn't useless taking this into account. Heck it's not useless if you're using it as a tablet on a desk or lap. Also, isn't 7 hours battery life par for the course? Also also, no ultrabook is good for gaming. They've all got integrated graphics. Don't make it seem like it's just the Spectre. How does the Dell XPS and MacBook compare when it comes to gaming?

Such an irritating 'tick' beat sound on this vid and the presenter was definitely an apple guy. Great little laptop, ghastly presentation.
