Republic Services trash truck takes out safety bollard and refuses to replace it (Las Vegas)

A neighbor's Ring camera captures a Las Vegas Republic Services trash truck completely destroy (ripped right out of the ground) a safety bollard that was installed in order to reduce speeding and protect the children at play within the cul-de-sac. It had a sign installed on it and everything, yet this driver was clearly paying attention to something else as he completely destroys it with his truck.

Republic Services has refused to replace/repair the damage, claiming that the neighborhood has no HOA to enforce anything and the street is a public street. (aka, they can do whatever they want as long as no one is willing to stand up to them)

Another display of perceived corporate dominance that needs to come to an end. These companies need to take responsibility for their actions.

I’m a garbage man myself that drives those same types of trucks that enters and exits properties with poles that are located in similar places such as this video. But in all honesty, he made that turn too sharp and not wide enough to clear the pole. Also, that pole should not be there coz sooner or later incidents like this will happen 🤷🏽‍♂️

Well I think there are two parties in the wrong here. 1. republic should fix it, 2. Is that even a legal place to put a bollard? Yes it has a sign on it but that’s not nearly visible enough, it’s just begging to get hit. It’s also a really dumb place to put it. I see someone said it was to help with speeding, but let’s be honest a post in the middle of the road ain’t gonna do squat for speeding.
