I am in Xinjiang at the moment for vacation, I have already spent 8!days in Urumqi, Hemu for Skiing, Kansan, Syram Lake now etc. what an amazing place breathtaking views, and good food.

I once by chance spoke to someone from Xinjiang. She said the governments efforts to remove the rigid Islamic culture has benefitted women like herself, but she also cried quite a bit as if remembering some aspect less favourable to her. I imagine the situation there has many sides to it, but for one thing we in the West would envy the level of security achieved there.

By logic, if millions of uyghur are so unhappy and have been sent to re-education camp, imagine the size of the camps needs to be and that amount of people would have brought the chinese government to it's knees if there was a riot. It would have been a civil war. There will always be dissidence in a country but the west plays it up. People need to know, Uyghurs have better educational and economic support from the government than the Hans.
