Ask Alabama: Why aren't there any 7-Eleven stores in Alabama?

We were asked to find out why there weren't any 7-Elevens in Alabama and here's what we found.

I grew up in NC and I don't know about every City there, but I never saw a 7 eleven in the areas I lived... They were dominated by the Pantry which became Kangaroos and Scotchman stores...however when I lived out West they were on every corner

I wish there were 7-11s in Alabama and Tennessee I used to work for 7-11 when I lived in FL If I was still in FL I would be working on my 24th anniversary with the company. If 7-11 decides to put stores in AL and TN I would return to the company in a heartbeat. I hear there is a 7-11 in Decatur, AL on Highway 20

My mother has friends of our family that live in Piedmont. They even go to the church that Desmond T. Doss went to after the WWII.
