Python Programming. Introducing the Python Turtle

This video is a brief introduction to the Python turtle which is covered in more detail in the next few videos of this series. The Python turtle is a set of commands based on a device known as a floor turtle. The floor turtle was a programmable robot invented in the 1960s to teach a new generation of children how to write code. It evolved in the 70s and 80s and gave its name to a type of software that allowed to kids to develop new games with graphics like never seen before. Turtle bots, car bots and bee bots are still used in schools today to engage young children with the concepts of programming and control.
