Long ago, Hwanin ruled the celestial realms. His son, Hwanung, wished to guide humans and, with Hwanin's blessing, descended to Earth with 3,000 followers. They settled on Mount Tebek, where they founded the celestial city of Shin. Hwanung taught humans agriculture, medicine, and technology. He granted the request of a bear and a tiger to become human, challenging them to fast for 100 days. The bear succeeded and transformed into Ango, becoming Hwanung's wife. Their son, Dangun, unified the people and founded the Kingdom of Gozon, marking an era of peace and prosperity.

Depending on region and area
there are various myths and legends.

If Korea yet had shamans and priests
practicing ancient beliefs.
I believe that we would have come to
see religious influences in people's
life like Japan's Shinto.

From what I've heard from the elders.
There were sacred grounds in every
village; shamans and priests dwelt.

One of my favourite Korean myths is:
Won Cheon Gang Bon Puli, features;
Onuri / O Neu Ri, known as the goddess
of all four seasons.

She originates from Jeju Island.

Also, there are more goddesses and
gods that were worshipped on the
Korean Peninsula.

The three - legged crow, fox, the god
of agriculture which has the head of
a cow, young sister and brother; sun goddess and moon god, etc.

I would recommend digging in deep
if you're ever interested in Oriental
Myths and Legends as such.

I too came across interesting stories.
