This is one of the greatest scenes in all moviedom. Powerfully subtle, you stop looking at him as mad and begin to cheer him on.

I kinda like the ambiguity of him tearing up. Like, you can look at it as him so moved because his dream of being knighted is coming true. Or you can look at it as him realizing he's being mocked as a madman. But then his friends join in the chorus, and he's genuinely happy. Because they kinda stole back the mockery and turned it into cheers.

For those who don't know, this isn't the context given for the name in the actual book. He gets the title as a suggestion from Sancho after Don Quixote gets his teeths smashed by the stones a little party of men throws at him. Ironically, he had just freed them from being prisoners being taken somewhere by road.

and some people say that Brian Blessed who played Pedro dubbed Harry Andrews' singing in this.

I don't understand this part. Are they saying he has a sad demeanor? Why does he look so honored for such a terrible name? Why do they all look so happy? I would have asked for a better title if I were him.
