World's 1st Manual C8 Corvette Drift Car - Prepping the chassis for Cage Kits - Ep. 15

After I did some testing at Sonoma Raceway for Winter Jam, it was time to dive back into the C8 Corvette. Before we can install the new roll cage from Cage Kits, we needed to make sure all of the mounting points are prepped. We are getting so much closer to getting this thing done and into paint!!

I don’t know if you thought about what the livery will be for this car, but I think a mix between the C8.R race car and your neon yellow signature would look incredible. Like a true factory race car or a LeMans one but with hints of a drift car, which this car pretty much is.

Put a screwdriver into slots on sides of holesaw to push the slugout.

Im sure a bunch of engineers designed the method of bonding and riveting those plates. But that seems sketch to me.... I wonder what the stregnth difference is between welding plates and bonding and riveting

Why wouldn't you weld these aluminum boxes in to the aluminum chassis as well...? Using just panel bond when welding seems completely applicable seems shortsighted

So you have pop rivets holding your roll cage in, you didn’t put back plates to sandwich between, u could have cut a access hole to bolt the 2 together, I think you made a mistake
Explain how you use a 3-1/16 rivets to hold, with glue, I guess it must be ok

Considering that you have to rivet and bond plates into the chassis does someone know if this would be fd legal? Just curious
