That Obsidian Wire thing is exactly what I've been looking for! Guitarist for Snarky Puppy uses similar device on his Strat for Tele-tone ( bridge + neck). I would be a bit apprehensive using this on my beautiful U.S.A Custom Strat, but idea is great!

I just got one and am amazed at the quality. The dynamics and effects are incredible.  Some of the included patches aren't that great, but that's typical. I also had to get used to how good it sounds. At first, I wasn't thrilled until I got used to the dynamics and my ear realized that this was like playing great tube amps. 

You have to take some time to get some good patches, but when you do, it's worth every penny.  Don't jump right in to use Input Responses either.  A lot of people have said that the build in cab responses aren't that great, but if you let your ears adjust, they sound pretty damn good.

So far, the only issue I have with the Helix is that I have not found a way to program a footswitch to switch the expression pedal between exp1 and exp2 (like the toe switch does). I don't like to use the toe switch because when I have the volume set right, you mess that up by having to push the volume pedal all the way down to switch to your wah pedal and that messes up the volume level.

On my gt-10 I could set a footswitch to switch the expression pedal between volume and wah and not have to worry about changing my volume level when switching to wah.

Maybe they'll do a firmware update to fix that or I'll find a work around for that.

Looking forward to the reviews of many of the products unboxed. When you come to review/demo the Helix, it would be helpful if you would give your thoughts on the standard patches. I know it's subjective, but it serves as a useful guide.
