Remember did 1 of these uncontested when I was a complete noob took us nearly 3 hours did it with no emissary havent done since but it was fun if I remember right

Hey i got a question, me and my friend completed the fort of fortune and we decided to go to reapers hideout for an emissary, when we got back to the fort the loot had disappeared and they key was no use since the doors were already open. Was this a glitch or was it because we were out of the forts range?
