The Most Important & Historic Watch Released This Year & Why You Will Not Find It At Baselworld 2018

In this quick episode I share one of the most significant and historically important watches released this year and possibly the decade.

The timing of this watch release has been greatly overshadowed by the Baselworld 2018 event in Switzerland and therefore almost entirely ignored by the mainstream watch press. However, not on The Urban Gentry!

In this video I take a first look at a watch that took 16 years to develop and contains concepts and ideas from some of the greatest in the history of watchmaking including John Arnold, Louis Breguet, Derek Pratt, George Daniels and Charles Frodsham.

To repair or have your watch serviced, I use Saltzmans:

Dear TGV,
recently I repaired my dad's watch and ever since I got interested in watches. I started watching and reading about them. After your live show I bought SARB033 and I am amazed. I don't want to wear my fathers watch-it's too precious to me even it's not as expensive as SARB but I just don't want to damage it.

I realy enjoy your channel. Right now I am waiting for my SKX. :)

Best Regards

TGV,
This is a perfect example of why I've become a devotee of your channel since i discovered it approximately one month ago. I'd never hear of Frodsham before. It's absolutely beautiful, especially in white gold. My Speedmaster Moonwatch hardly ever leaves my wrist, but the list of watches on my "must buy" list has exploded in number since I started watching your channel. Keep up the great work!
Yours,
Jason

British watch making is back and speaks loudly but with typically British class. Finally UK is back. Impressive watch and amazing video. Extremely well done and very informative.

Excellent work, old sport! Not even hodinkee said anything about this major event in British watchmaking. I'd prefer this to any Patek.

I'm relatively new to this channel but I really enjoy your passion about what you are doing TGV. Also you are probably the only youtuber who reply to the comments of your subscribers. You have a style, keep it on!

I've never commented on a YouTube video before but...
Wow! This is game over. You've found me my dream watch. Thank you. The Swiss and Japanese can pack up and go home now. The Germans Austrians or French might one day have an answer to this. I can't believe this is everything I never knew I wanted in a watch. No sarcasm or other distortion intended. I retire in six years and will be placing an order.

A beautiful and impressive piece. You can certainly see why they have a Royal warrant of appointment. I do hope your clock turns out ok. It's a very cool piece. So far, nothing at Baselworld has blown me away. Some very cool releases but nothing I'm especially drawn to. The Charles Frodsham is much more interesting than what they have at Baselworld, I feel. Anyhow, thanks, as always for sharing.
Cheers,
Justin

I have no personal connection with the Charles Frodsham brand, but it makes me so proud to see a brand that has so much pedigree and history to make a comeback without forgetting it's roots or giving in to current trends. Bravo.

Thank you so much for this presentation. A watch both designed and produced in England is special indeed.

A mystery why the Swiss overlook British watchmakers - not sure if you can feel threatened by a company that only produces 12 watches a year but maybe they would have to reluctantly admit that British watchmaking has a glorious heritage that goes back even further than Swiss watchmaking....

What an absolutely beautiful piece. With most of the emphasis on the Swiss manufacturers, nowadays, it's easy to forget that Britain was the main driving force in Horology for so long. I'm just as guilty for that. Well done for bringing this to our attention. Great vid.

Greetings from Germany, TGV. I love you for raising awareness for smaller watch brands in the competition. The version with the Roman numerals in steel was probably my favourite one. Keep going on with that awsome content and Congratulations to 200k subscribers.
