Solution #3 REALLY helped. For a minute I thought my external drive is a goner. But thank God you made this video. I have LARGE videos that I'm trying to store in a safe place

Ok so this might work for you as well guys! I was really concerned about the third’s solution safety. I checked my recycle bin and found a file that I deleted there. So I emptied it and tried to eject my device again and it worked! Hope this could help someone.

The first one just saved my life. Thank you so much! This was so much easier than all other "commonly known" ways I've found all over the internet since they didn't work for me.

Didn't think the "refresh" option would work since I had tried several other options on other tutorial videos, but I'm happy to report it worked. Thank you for resolving this issue that was getting very frustrating if not a bit worrisome for me. Have (4) old cell phone and (2) camera SD cards worth of pics on my external drive and I was terrified the drive was going to get erased with some of the other techniques that were suggested elsewhere.

Also, try RESTARTING your computer. This usually works every single time whenever you have a stubborn USB ejection problem.
