1.first Indian composer to win Oscars
Ans: Ar Rahman
2. First asian composer to win golden globe
Ans: AR Rahman
3. first Indian to win Grammy
Answer : AR Rahman

Even after 12 years after spending 500 crores, no one was able to get nominated a single main category award such as original score in Oscars, Grammy or golden globe... That's what sets AR Rahman apart from other commercial masala composers

To grow up in the India of the nineties and discover Rahman Sir's music was magical, miraculous and elevating. It continues to be so. Thank you Sir for the music, you got me over darkness and grimness, can't thank you enough. Wish you lots of good health, life, cheer and melody!

A.R.Rahman is an Indian composer in the league of World Class Composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino, Dave Jordan, Thomas Newman, Ludwig Goransson, Alan Silvestri, Dave Jordan, James Horner, Danny Elfman ... and even better because of his extreme versatility ranging from Western Classical, Orchestral, Electronics, Indian Classical to almost everything. Sorry if my comment is repetitive. I want to celebrate one of the greatest human being.

My absolute favourite A.R. Rahman composition is Bombay Theme. I would recommend also watching Mani Ratnam's Tamil classic Bombay (1995) for Rahman Sir's soundtrack and score. One of his very best.

A.R. Rahman is the only Indian to win more than one Academy Award. Slumdog Millionaire has great music score and Slumdog Millionaire: Jai Ho has great music and lyrics.

A true pride of India unlike spending money and campaign to win a side award, imagine westerners approached an Indian composer by recognizing his Indian work when social media and youtube was not famous among common people, and then you get nominated through official submission and get nominated along with Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard and Newman to win Grammy, golden globe and Oscars in main category (not just side category-original song) and win the awards, a phenomenal win that can never be matched by any Indian composers
