@Lyrricane
That's a great question, and one not asked nearly enough. The key is not to focus on where the dart 'pops' at the end, but to observe the line of extension. Just as in empty hand striking, the point of impact is never at full extension, but along the path to extension. It's the same with linear rope dart strikes. Impact occurs as the dart is moving inward and upward. It'll pass head or body level, and pop somewhere above that. This also helps prevent dropping the dart...

Even tho the rope dart is a combat weapon its really really fun ( atleast to me ) to practice and can be quite an intense work out and when u nail new tricks thanks to this guy youll never want to put one down!

Great footage, it does a much better job than most meteor hammer videos of showing the momentum transfer.

I can't help but notice, though, that many shots seem to aim above the opponent's head. I can see this being fine for downward arcing shots, but the straight shots seems to hit the same spot. Is this just an aspect of practice, or is there a practical reason why the straight shots are aimed so high?

@sphoral hi there. i don't consider this a practice dart. pls have a look at my website in the url listed in the description. I have these custom made out of silk in Shanghai, China, and use a steel ball as the weight. I sell them there as well if you like the concept.

i did not know it was steel ball. i do really like the concept, however i would like to get something that i wont knock myself out with first. do you know if you can even get softer practice type rope darts?

@sphoral if your still looking for a safe and friendly practice dart, i make practice and fire/practice interchangable darts.
